Real tree or fake

Are you a real tree fan? I think I wold prefer one a
Du to the smell and the real look appeals

Do they risk out expensive though? Needles ? Fire hazard.

IIRC four Christmases ago, we bought a tree from our usual local garden centre , it was £60. The branches were a bit wonky, lots of gaps, but yes you get the lovely smell but the needles

So we got a nice ( if such a thing exists) fakey tree,it arrived about the 20th, so hastily assembled and decorated (I wasn't pleased, though, they need alot of time spent flouncing them )

The next two years though, I spent more time, put more lights on, and decorated every branch. It was lovely and because it isn't real. it can go near the radiator if the lights are protected .

We do have an outdoor potted tree that has solar lights.

DH asked me last year if I wanted a real tree - I was sooo tempted but resisted.
When this one gets past it, I'll go back to real though.

We spend about £36 on a 5' high Nordman fir every year. We only get a short one as it has to squeeze into a small corner, so we put it on a table and get the height without it being too massive at the bottom, as well as saving a few ££. I love the smell, the needles aren't too bad and it is a really nice family tradition going out to pick it from the Forestry Commission place. I seriously can't believe I'm posting on a Christmas thread in June

I have a 5' fake, which was seriously cheap the first Christmas we had our house (6 weeks before our wedding so smashed, it cost IR£20, so €25 equivalent). Any year we are travelling and the year dd was only 1, that comes out. IF WE are staying at home, we get a real one.

I think I would like to get a lovely fake, but that's probably as much work in fluffing as a real one in hoovering. But a once off investment; real trees at quite expensive here, cheapest is €45 for tiny scraggly ones.

I have an essential oils Christmas mix, which is remarkably good and does make the house smell properly Christmassy even when we have the fake.

I'd love a real one, mainly for the smell, but I can't stand the needles sticking in my feet. Plus we put our tree up fairly early in December so it would probably drop. We have a lovely fake one that always looks lovely. I may get a bigger one this year, but can't go too big as living room isn't massive.

I have a real one as it' sjust not the same with a fake one. I always felt as though something was missing when exp refused to have a real tree.

Anyway, I get a Fraiser Fir from here . Needles hardly drop as long as you water it, are thick and busy and look like something out of a movie when you've decorated it and trimed it to what you want.

They can be pricey depending on size but I think they are worth it ( and they are one of the few things I treat myself to)

Always a fake ; I can't stand the mess from the real ones.

I got mine from b anq in the january sale 7ft fake but looks real. Was meant to be 80 reduced to 35 :)

I have a fake one in the living room, a tiny fake one in the playroom and put a real one in the kitchen - dining room.

I love real trees but worry about my DD's (3 & nearly 1) and the needles, and they don't really play in there.

The Nordman ones hardly drop, we get ours about the 10th December and it lasts till 12th Night easily, hardly drops any needles. We water them religiously. I would never go back to a fake now.
