52 Week Money Saving Challenge - well 28

Does anyone want to join me - trying to put a little nest egg away for festive period. There are 28wks til Christmas (going from Sunday, which is the start of week 24), so if you start then and follow it through every week until then, you will have saved £406.

I am also going to do it for the whole of next year, if you do it for the whole 52wks you will save £1378!

Anyone up for joining me? Grin first £1 in the pot - done!

I cant see the picture very well. But I like the sound of saving. What do you do ?

Week 1 you save £1
Week 2 you save £2

And on and on etc - you save the £ amount for each week up to week 28 when you save £28 Grin it's just sticking the money in a bank/jar and not touching it!

I don't do a set weekly amount but I do save all the £2 coins that come into DH or my change.
On average £4 a week, some weeks are more though.
we have a money tin every year, so no-one can pilfer.

Then the week before Christmas, I cash it up, put it in the bank. DH and I use our 25% online. DD and DS have the cash.
Only rule is, it HAS to be spent.

How much do you normally get by doing that 70isa ?

Between £190 - £240 by the time we open the tin Grin

It's nice, we have a shopping trip once everything has been organised except the last food shop (I use my Nectar Points for that Grin )

The DC can buy what they want, no object (as long as it's legal and they have the money).
Last year DS bought an X-Box game and MicroSoft Points.

DD spent hers in Primark.

DH buys from Amazon and I get QVC stuff

I've had a good run of £2 coins this week (about £12 worth ) so I'm well up to date Grin I aim for £4 a week.

Not as methodical as the 52 Week Challenge, so it's a drumroll moment when we open the tin .

I usually save my 2 coins plus any left pver cash in my account wishful thinking for high days & holidays.

Also any profits from ebay selling are also included in the holiday savings fund.

£3 in the 28 week challenge jar. Plus £2 in the £2 box Grin seems that these coins are rare - I guess that's the point...Smile
