Ridgeback scoot - return it?

I purchased Ds1 a ridgeback scoot (balance bike) for his Christmas. For some reason I thought it had restricted steering and it doesn't. Did anyone else get their dc a balance bike and how important is this feature?

Ds got a balance bike without restricted steering for his third birthday. It's just one of the features of riding a bike that he had to get used to, like balancing and not falling off! I'm sure you're ds will get used to it.

Thanks for responding. Just having a post purchase panic. It was a lot of money and I don't want it to end up sitting in the garage because I bought the 'wrong' type. Smile

I don't think restricted steering is necessary - ds has been riding bikes since 19 months without needing it. In fact, when he got a bigger balance bike when he was 2.5 we removed the steering restrictor because we thought it was unnecessary.

Will be fine :)

I feel much better about it now. Dh has been laughing at me as I'm worried about restricted steering and all ds wants to do is ring the bell. SmileGrin
