Is a question I have asked myself after getting into several near meltdowns ins the past 2 days. Said to DP it is his turn to 'do' Christmas next year - his response, if you want a blokes Christmas with what ever can be found on Christmas eve then fine no problem
my ds (13.11) is not bothered and 'doesn't feel Christmasy' his words.
Made me think, who am I doing this for?
Got my answer after not a lot of thought - it is for dp's ds (6.11) as it is his first Christmas with dp since he was 2 and dp and his mum were together. that got me thinking more, what would dp have done for his ds without me organising? Admittedly he has bought and wrapped all his ds presents, but what would he have done about the rest of Christmas - ie food etc? Also makes me think, no point letting him 'do' Christmas next year, as it will be his ds's turn at his mums, so a low key Christmas would be more acceptable. urrgh making a rod for my own back - do Christmas next year myself, so year after I am either expected to do Christmas yet again, or let dp 'do' Christmas and see a younger child have a probably possible rubbish Christmas, only the 2nd one he has spent with his dad?
TBH i am just a little fed up with all the work I seem to put in for the benefit of others who i'm not sure appreciate it.
