OMG, the Twitch is really trying to kick in.

I've gone over the food shopping list about 3 times already today. There's nothing more that needs to be added.

Tuesday I'm off to the butchers to pick up the meat and pick up some fish for the fish pie from the local shop. I also need to put in DS's perscription for his meds.

The ex inlaws are coming tomorrow so it will be great to see them and give them their present.

DS bless him, he found some spare wrapping paper and spent this morning wrapping up some of his toys. He came downstairs with them to unwrap and woke his sister up so she can join in. I think he's getting excited. Xmas Grin.

On a sadder note but still quite funny, he asked me yesterday if he could have a baby brother so he has someone to play with. I had to explain that would mean I would have to have a boyfriend. He thought about it for a minute and then said "well, cant you adpot one?". Grin

Where is everyone?

Well I'm using MN as an avoidance technique for the piles of stuff I haven't done yet!

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 21/12/2013 10:42

farrow aw bless your DS sounds lovely. My friend has an only DS, he doesn't like babies so wants her to adopt another 5yo. When is your shopping coming? Mine is Monday night, I keep thinking of more things I need, I'm up to £190 Xmas Blush DH is gonna go spare

Marne · 21/12/2013 10:48

I am panicking about the food order (might have to check it again), mine only comes to £100, I'm sure I must have forgot something important but not sure what, I have Turkey crown and a joint of beef, havn't forgot the sprouts and have got plenty of buffet food for boxing day, I keep trying to tell myself 'the shops are only shut for 2 days' so I'm sure I have ordered plenty, we are on our own Christmas day so don't need a huge amount.

Farrowandbawlbauls · 21/12/2013 10:57

The food should be here Monday too. I have to keep checking it as items are being sold out.

Anything that doesn't appear I'll try to get from the co-op up the road so I'm hoping there's not going to be a lot missing. I'ts no big deal if they are, as Marne says, it's only two days.

I've made sure all the bills are paid and double checked to make sure. Money is in the account to cover everything that is due - that's my main concern but I'm like that every month.

I don't think I've forgotten anything. I'm just sat eating a mince pie now.

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 21/12/2013 11:00

I have some normal shopping on it too, including £15 of nappies, that's why mines high it has nothing to do with the gin, rum and brandy

ChestyNutRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 21/12/2013 11:16

Mmmmm mince pie Xmas Smile

Think I've arranged to see everyone for gift exchange.
Christmas night out 37 tonight Xmas Grin

Have to do work buffet shop tomorrow ( with hangover)
And own shopping Monday.

Few gifts to wrap for work and cards and am done!

ISawMamaPizzaKissingSantaClaus · 21/12/2013 12:31

Hello again, I'm back to the living! Final day was a blast, loved the Christmas cheer around school and the kids loved my elf costume Xmas Grin

Tidying the house at the moment. We finally finished building the bed and rest of the furniture, going through all our junk stuff and making piles for skip, charity, keep and sorting it in the new furniture. Taking ages. DH is a hoarder Xmas Angry but I forced him gently persuaded him to get rid of things. Almost finished and then I'll scrub the house from top to toe.

Final shopping planned for tomorrow or Monday. Have found a few more presents, will wrap them this weekend.

I AM ALMOST READY FOR CHRISTMAS Xmas Grin (and really pleased that I have kept my deadline of completely refurbishing the upstairs before Christmas - our bedroom especially looks lush, proper hotel chic)

ISawMamaPizzaKissingSantaClaus · 21/12/2013 12:32

Sorry, forgot to reply to your posts.

Farrow, your DS sounds so sweet. How old is he again?

Enjoy your night out, chesty. And keep away from the brandy Xmas Wink

My food shop should be as cheap as usual as we don't have any visitors, he he he.

Farrowandbawlbauls · 21/12/2013 13:22

Glad to hear you had a good last day. I'm going to have to start the sleaning but to be honest - I just don't want to. The kids will have to help as I'm not doing it all on my own.

Don't worry about not replying to my posts - I'm not checking. He's 10.

Enjoy your night out Chesty.

Seven - how old is your baby?

Your kids must be going bonkers at the moment. I miss the kids at that age. Especially at Christmas.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 21/12/2013 14:03

I've got a food shop to do after work on Monday. Mainly normal food shop as we're going to my parents for Christmas lunch and Boxing Day tea. Boxing Day lunch will be at the rugby club.

Still need a tin of roses though.

Presents are all wrapped and bagged just keeping the dd's out of my bedroom they are 7 & 4 so still believe the boys are 11 & 16 so they know how it is and have been letting the dd's in their room to snuggle and watch tv. I guess they are hoping it will mean extra presents. Grin

Hope your shopping delivers everything and you don't end up shopping on Christmas Eve.

Just remembered I need to go to m&s for a pork pie for the man shape who's coming over Christmas Eve.

cantheyseeme · 21/12/2013 14:04

I have to go and get replace tins of sweets on xmas eve, and maybe a few extras, but im going at 6am Grin

prettypleasewithsugarontop · 21/12/2013 14:46

Just been to do the food shop £105 (double what we usually spend!) Sad that better last us as I am not going back!

Now sat about to watch Prep and Landing with the DDs Smile

Rosvita · 21/12/2013 14:55

I've had a pretty Christmassy day so far-been wearing my christmas jumper all day, made mince pies with the dc which is the first time ever I've made mince pies (turned out ok but a bit crumbly) and made a shepherd's pie for our lunch really impressed myself with my culinary skills today as I am not much of a cook Just watching White Christmas now then off to parents for nibbles as my auntie is down.just got a couple more presents to wrap tonight then all done.

Farrowandbawlbauls · 21/12/2013 15:08

Wow Rosvita, you have been really busy. Crumbly mince pies are perfect with a little brandy cream Wink

Enjoy your evening at your parents. When was the last time you saw your aunt?

Has anyone else noticed that the down side to getting everything done so early is the waiting for the actual day itself?

OP posts:
ISawMamaPizzaKissingSantaClaus · 21/12/2013 15:45

Does he still believe, Farrow?

My house is perfectly clean, does anyone want to come and visit before it looks like a pigsty again in two hours? Xmas Wink

I know, Farrow, I just can't wait. It's taking aaaaages!!!

HerlockSholmes · 21/12/2013 15:49

i have ds' room to gut and box up old toys for the bin/ loft and the dining table to build, alongside 8 hours of crochet to finish mothers present in time and some wrapping and delivering to do.

i am lying on the couch sick as a dog and too ill to move.

Farrowandbawlbauls · 21/12/2013 16:43

He does Mama.

The upside to having kids on the Spectrum is that they are kids for longer. Even the other kids in his class have played along and not let on - as far as I know anyway.

I love having a clean house - at the moment, no matter how much cleaning I do, because I'm still decorating it looks like a crap shack. Especially my bedroom where I don't have any flooring.

Herlock - I think your mum will understand if you don't get it finished as you are ill. Hope you feel better soon. Dining tables are easy enough to build and tip over.

You have reminded me though I need to gut out ds's toy boxes. I did clean out the lego basket the other night which resulted in 2 and a half bags of rubbish and a load of toys that shouldn't be in there (no wonder the lego basket was over flowing).

OP posts:
TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 21/12/2013 16:59

farrow it's nice that he still believes. I'm hoping the fact that mine are home educated will keep them believing a bit longer. DS is really excited, DD1 is a big young to understand it much as she's only just turned 2, next year will be better.

Glad you got the house finished and clean mama, can you do mine now?

herlock better now than on the big day, hope you recover in time Xmas Smile

canthey hope you can replace the sweets. Asda didn't have any when I was in there last week, and I could only get quality street on my tesco order. Thankfully DH found celebrations somewhere else.

I finished the Christmas cake last night, it looks amazing. It's stressed me out and taken ages but I'm glad I went to the bother of using royal icing instead of sugar paste
