When do you do it? I love to see them out but its the curious touching and peeling back of paper in this house when there right under there noses!! Just fed up of cupboards, under beds and every available nook and cranny bursting with pressies!!!

Gifts from us to friends and family are already under the tree. Gifts from others to DD are ubder the tree.

Gifts from us santa to DD will remain out of sight til Christmas Eve.

Keep the magic alive and all that.

HaveAFestiveLittleChristmas · 17/12/2013 07:33

My DC are adult, and we still don't have presents sitting under the Tree.
(well, maybe the odd gift from a neighbour)
Father Christmas delivers everything!! Xmas Grin

We all act like total lunatics ......sneaking in at various points overnight to add our own gifts to the pile. Coming into the room in the morning, to see everything piled together, for the first time, is still a lovely time for all of us - and even more special with DGC in the mix.
Writing it down, its a bit sad really. I don't think any of us have grown up.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 17/12/2013 07:38

Nothing until Christmas morning. Don't know why really, growing up we had a very inquisitive dog who would chew the edges of most parcels.

wonkylegs · 17/12/2013 07:47

Gifts are steadily going under the tree as I wrap them except for stocking stuff which is in my blanket chest. I usually wrap the majority on Christmas Eve but as we have so much family descending on us, there won't be room for me to do it in peace this year.
DS / DH knows that any sneak peaking /tearing of paper etc will result in instant loss of that present so they don't do it.

dingit · 17/12/2013 07:49

Mine go last minute under tree, I have a maniac paper shredding cat!

OodKingWenceslas · 17/12/2013 07:50

Everything under the tree as its wrapped except Santa stuff.
Santa only brings stockings and a few presents here, everything else is from whoever bought it.

honeybeeridiculous · 17/12/2013 08:12

My youngest DC is 16 and I still hide all the presses til Xmas eve, it's a right pain tbh as Iv got them squashed in every hidy hole imaginable but it's all part of the fun
Last year DD (23) was out on the town till 2am Xmas morning and I couldn't wait up so 'Santa' delivered her presses before she got home Xmas Grin
One year when DS was 12 I made so much noise giggling whilst putting his stocking in his room that I woke him and he said 'thanks Santa'
My D dad still believes in Santa so I guess I get it from him! Xmas Grin

mumeeee · 17/12/2013 08:14

Presents usually go under the tree on Christmas eve mainly because they haven't all been wrapped until then. Only stocking stuff is from FC and they are of course filled up when everybody has gone to bed. We are actually a bit nutty the same as an earlier poster, Our DDs are all in their 20s but we still do stockings and even DH and I have one. So it involves a lot of sneaking around but it"s fun,

HaveAFestiveLittleChristmas · 17/12/2013 08:40

Have to say, also, that the Christmas morning which made me have "something in my eye" more than any other, was the one when my DC crept down before me for the first time, and hid their gifts to people in the pile which had been "delivered by FC" before I went to bed.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 17/12/2013 08:41

Nothing goes under the tree until Christmas eve. It's all part of the fun!I love sneaking presents down from upstairs trying not won wake ds,it's one of the best bits Smile

Chrysanthemum5 · 17/12/2013 08:47

Presents go under the tree as I wrap them. The DCs know not to play with them but on Christmas Eve we all put them into piles for each person. Santa brings the stockings

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 17/12/2013 08:47

Our gifts to be given to others are currently under the tree along with a few treats to tease the DC's. Everything else will go out on Christmas eve and from Santa.

I wrapped lots yesterday... then ran out of paper so back to the shops I go!

VoldemortsNipple · 17/12/2013 08:55

On Christmas Eve our tree drops it fruit when the DCs are tucked up in bed (all teenagers) but as soon as I'm in bed they all seem to need a sneaky peak drink Grin So this year we have decided to put all the presents under the tree some time on Christmas Eve. This way we can enjoy the stash. I'm sure there will be a fair bit of prodding and shaking going on too.

Stockings will still be filled by Santa after hours to keep the magic alive. Also because the dog gets a stocking and gets more excited than a four year old when he smells his stocking and makes it squeek by pawing it Blush

dancemom · 17/12/2013 08:59

All gifts for and from family and friends are under the tree, gifts to dd from me are also there, only Santa stuff is hidden away, a tree doesn't look magical without the presents!

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 17/12/2013 09:12

I have had to put a few out for DC from us, because she saw some for other people and burst into tears, so a small amount are there to raise and begin some excitement. The main spread will go out, xmas eve or asvOLDEMORT SAID, will bear its fruiit!!

PogoBob · 17/12/2013 09:15

Nothing under the tree yet - have a baby and pre-schooler so unsupervised presents is a recipe for disaster. Will put everything under there on Christmas Eve.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 17/12/2013 09:16

I am amazed Pogo our baby has not even tried to pull anything off tree, nor touched a single present!!!

( just over a year)

BankerMommy2010 · 17/12/2013 16:19

Gifts from us to friends go under the tree in the dining room any presents given to us get hidden mainly because ds believes santa delivers the gifts for us... ive told him the gifts under the dining room tree need to be collected by the elves ...sure he'll over think this one day and I'll come unstuck but this year and him only being 3 I think I'm safe :) anyway...no presents go under our tree in the lounge until ds has gone to bed on Christmas eve then when he enters the lounge Christmas morning santa has left piles of prizes :)

kissmelittleass · 17/12/2013 18:27

yea think I will leave it to xmas eve like I always have done..its me getting too excited!!
