Harry Potter Lego

DS (5.5) has suddenly decided that he would like some HP lego for Christmas. Fine, I like lego.

Looking on Amazon, the (not even that big) sets seem to start at £200 or so and go up to £600-800 for the Hogwarts Castle.

Sorry, but what the actual fuck??? Is it discontinued, or particularly rare? Star Wars in comparison has a few top end pricey pieces, but they are enormous, and there are hundreds of things in the Star Wars range all around £15-£80 as per normal.

What is with the Harry Potter prices???

I've just discovered this problem too, I think LittleMissGreen is right and it's been discontinued. My DS has very recently got into Harry Potter and has always loved Lego so that's what he asked for for his birthday. I didn't expect it to be difficult! I've got him a couple of small sets, but even they seem quite expensive compared to other Lego stuff.

I have bought a few bits on ebay for my dd, but its still not cheap. I think i paid about £50 for hogwarts express unboxed las year.

yes, discontinued, dd1 wanted some last year but no way was I paying those prices , most of the character lego sets are only on sale for a short time, so if anyone does have any its best to keep hold of it (make sure you keep the boxes) as prices go up.

They did have some at the harry potter studio tour earlier this year - it wasn't cheap - but it wasn't ebay prices!!
