Secret Santa- Female CEO! Help!

Yoghurty · 11/12/2013 18:21

Please help!

I need to get a SS gift of £10 for my female CEO.

I've known her for years, but don't 'know' her. She laughed today and said she has to find out every year who buys for who- so I can't get anything shit! Grin

She's early 40's, married with 2 kids, loves her job, err, not much more info, sorry!

I only have tomorrow to get something (at a wedding all w/end) but have no clue.

Any ideas? Thank you all in advance!

Bucks, can you see me?!

I just tried Oliver Bonas but could only find an 'initial' mug or some hand cream for under £10. There were a pair of earrings but I'm unsure of gifting jewellery?

Any idea how old her DC are - something like this (nice brand, s'thing to amuse her DC...)

other than that, £10 is quite hard. A book? If she is a stationery fetishist fan she might like something like this?

Yoghurty · 11/12/2013 18:43

Thanks Stealth- I think they are both under 7 yrs.

I like the idea of moleskine- just not sure if I'd get one in time? Nice notebooks might be a good way to go thou...

If it was one if the men I'd be buying a Christmas themed jumper- not sure if that's still a good way to go!

My suggestions would be:

greeneyes1978 · 11/12/2013 18:47

What about a scrabble mug with her initial on it?

LoganMummy · 11/12/2013 18:49

Lottery scratchcards and chocolate. My answer to (almost) every SS.

If not a voucher for somewhere like Starbucks, Costa if she drinks coffee?

greeneyes1978 · 11/12/2013 18:50

Or another idea is 'something in a bag' eg film night in a bag; DVD, popcorn, miniature wine or cocktail in a bag with cocktail glass, ready mixed cocktails, umbrellas and stirrer. Could do a pamper one; bath bomb, facepack and candle.

Kevinsbowel · 11/12/2013 18:51

Get her an oxfam goat or whatever they still do for a tenner.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/12/2013 18:51

She laughed today and said she has to find out every year who buys for who

Tch tch.

If I had to get a 'secret' gift for a CEO I'd be horribly tempted by this

Kevinsbowel · 11/12/2013 18:53

In fact there is a half price sale on oxfam unwrapped right now

Chopsypie · 11/12/2013 18:56

My answer is always Schotts original miscellany. Its interesting, and skims enough topics that it sort of fits everyone. Great book to keep in the bathroom!

huhmuhguh · 11/12/2013 18:56

I don't really 'know' the person I have in SS this year so I've made her a pamper stocking - mini candle, mini wine, mini shower gel, mini body lotion, face mask and chocolates.

Laska42 · 11/12/2013 19:00

I once had you buy something for my managing director . I got him a toy Sooty magic wand ( because he was always saying he that if he had a fkng magic wand he could do whatever it was we wanted) and a novety reindeer that pooed chocolate..

He never knew it was me....

Laska42 · 11/12/2013 19:03

This year we only had a fiver to spend , but i've found a nice cream and grey leopard print scarf reduced on ASOS for my giftee.. I'm pretty sure she'll like it

travailtotravel · 11/12/2013 19:03

Something desky is always good so head to Paperchase for a notebook and pen, maybe? Coaster for the desk?

LePetitPrince · 11/12/2013 19:04

Asos have some lovely purses and clutches for under a tenner. Can you have it delivered pronto straight to work?

PepeLePew · 11/12/2013 19:11

As a 40-something CEO of a small company that is about to embark upon another round of Secret Santa, I would say the hits over the years have been:

  • handcream
  • really nice chocolates
  • tiny vase
  • any "book of the year"
  • bottle of sherry

Tricky. I do periodically try and call a halt to SS as they all get a gift from me personally and from the company plus a bonus. But the team does seem to like it.

zebdee · 11/12/2013 19:19

Stationary should be safe and you'll get a few bits for £10

Yoghurty · 11/12/2013 19:50

You lot are bloody brilliant. Thank you. I have loads of things to pick from now- and I'm going to order the monthly brownie subscription for a friend!

(High fives you all)
