Apparently that's what dd (4) wants for Christmas. I've looked at the reviews on the Argos site and most people seem to think they are absolute shit! Anyone any experience with these? Thankyou!

They are shit. Do not buy.

MrsCharlesBrandon · 06/12/2013 10:24

Oh dear lord no. Do not buy. We had one two christmases ago and i'm still finding the bits.

DCs never made anything with it, just opened the box and promptly lost everything in it.

Gladvent · 06/12/2013 10:24

We had one from the charity shop for £2, because I knew they were shit, the DC then agreed they were shit and it went back to the charity shop.

Now they believe the reviews rather than the ads and always ask to research things before deciding if they want them.

Right thankyou all! Will try and steer her in a different direction...

How about getting one of these instead - it's a little chocolate dispensing machines - the ones that drop down a mini chocolate when you put the coin in the slot:-

Chocolate Machine

Going against the grain a bit here - although I completely agree this is shit, we got one for DS (now 6) a couple of Christmases ago and he still loves it (not that he gets to do it very often due to aforementioned shitness). Personally I wouldn't advise against buying it

tracypenisbeaker · 06/12/2013 12:09

Get her a chocolate mould set instead. Much better

ChristmasYoni · 06/12/2013 12:13

I agree with the above, cheap chocolate moulds on eBay then some nice foil paper to wrap them in.

mabelbabel · 06/12/2013 12:27

Lakeland have a nice little rubbery jug that you can pop in the microwave to melt chocolate for pouring into moulds. I agree, put together your own chocolate lolly making kit: Include sticks, ribbons, little cellophane bags to wrap them in and even stickers to decorate.

Marne · 06/12/2013 13:50

Don't buy it Grin get her some chocolate moulds and the melting/pouring pot from Lakeland, much nicer Smile.

ApplesinmyPocket · 06/12/2013 13:53

I remember someone posting last year "who can forget the hell that was the Golden Coin Maker?" Xmas Grin

rainbowfeet · 06/12/2013 13:55

Total shit as is the ice cream maker & chocolate lolly maker!!! Confused

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 06/12/2013 15:01

Thankyou for the ideas, the chocolate moulds sound much better! The reviews on Argos were scathing enough but you've all convinced me, definitely shit.
