she is in her mid-thirties. she likes camping (and being in the peace & quiet), cocktails and reading.

i am bored with buying her make-up and scented candles but still want to get her something she would see as a 'treat' other than practical present...but all and any ideas welcome!

She likes cocktails, why don't give her a bottle of something nice that's not wine. Maybe something foreign with a little book of cocktails recipe too? Plenty of advice and reviews on the internet and lots of good deals at the supermarkets.

north face slippers? I want some, so i may be projecting a bit here. They are a little practical, but they are designed for camping i think. Although that's not why i want them...

St Germain elderflower liqueur is lush, either added to a G&T or mixed with dry white wine and soda - and the bottle is gorgeous (the pic here doesn't do it justice)

What about some solar power stuff that she could use for camping .....

Failing that how about a wind-up radio/torch...

On the alky front - nice cocktail glasses - a set of miniatures for cocktail mixing - or a mega bottle of Vodaka / a long long spoon / and some cranberries - to make your own !!!
