A 4 1/2 year old of my acquaintance has been heavily into Fireman Sam for over two years. I don't really want to get him more Fireman Sam stuff for Christmas because he has quite a lot of relatives and after all this time the chances of getting something he's alreay got are just too high. Plus his parents are getting a little sick of Pontypandy by now, and I don't think he loves the firefighters with quite as much passion as he did a year ago for example. So I'm wondering what else might capture his imagination.
Does anyone have a formerly Fireman Sam obsessive child? And if so, what was their next obsession after Fireman Sam? I heard somewhere that Thomas the Tank Engine fans often move onto Star Wars (although goodness knows what the connection is there), so I wonder if there is a similar pattern with lovers of the Pontypandy Fire Brigade...
Although of course, there is also the issue that his 2 year old sister is still in the stage of thinking her big brother is really cool and is now starting to get into Fireman Sam herself...
