Is six Christmas trees too many for one house?

It's never occurred to me that it might be but I've just been told by a grumpy friend that it is!

We have the biggest (8ft) one in the sitting room - that's the one with all my 'posh' decorations on. Then I have a 6ft one in the dining room because it's nice to have a tree where you eat your Christmas dinner. The DC each have one to decorate themselves in their rooms - that's another three, and finally I have a little one in the main front hallway.

I also have fairy lights draped everywhere - up the stairs, across the ceilings, etc. Actually I have enough that we don't need to use our normal lights at all, just twinkly Christmas ones.

Anyway my friend said to me that she'll have to remember to wear her sunglasses when she comes over so she doesn't get a migraine - and that it's a shame having all those trees competing with each other.

So am I actually mad? Sad

I would have one in every room if I could and I do have a teeny one in the kitchen

We have a big one in the living room (7") and following a change around earlier this year we now have a separate playroom (used to be the dining room, which is now half the big living room). I am planning on putting my old tree (a measly 5") in the playroom for the kids.

We also decorate all of the downstairs with tinsel, beads and wreaths.

I thought my 6 boxes of decorations was impressive [tchwink]

i would if i could. sadly we only have 3. one 7 footer in the living room and little ones for the kids rooms, a black 3ft one for the boys room, and a pink 3 ft one for the girls room. dont have a dining room or decent hallway or any other room for more. hopefully next year we will have moved house and have more.

I thought I was a bit over the top with eight boxes of decorations!

But they're all the bits to decorate the evergreen foliage that will be tastefully draped all over the exposed oak beans etc etc etc.

cointreau You've outed me! Shock

Our house is quite big with lots of space but not that big. It's quite old so all the rooms are quite big with high ceilings, and are all separate off a central hallway - so you can only see one tree wherever you are - if that helps my case Grin

Billy I used to feel sorry for the kitchen and the loos as well - so I do have a teeny (about a foot high) tree on the kitchen window sill and lots of fairy lights, obviously. And I have a bit of tinsel flung around in the downstairs loo - wouldn't like to disappoint any visitors!

We have four for the same reasons you do. DDs' trees are 3 ft pink monstrositiesGrin
