Scalextric advice

I was thinking of buying this for ds (9) but a lot of the reviews talk about children age 6. Is there older/younger versions of this? Or is it babyish for 9 year old?

My DH got a Scalextric a couple of years ago. Last year I got him the Scalextric police car and he was THRILLED. Man or boy, you are NEVER too old for Scalextric IME

Thats exactly what dh said! (I strongly suspect he really wants ds to get it so he can play with it)

We bought it for ds when he was 6 and it was a basic set and he never took to it.

I think it better for older kids, with bigger more complex sets. Ds is now 9 and hope to get him one in the future.
