Ok - I have just started making a batch of this stuff with all the spices etc etc etc - but tell me why can't I just lob in a ready made Christmas Pudding instead (crumbled up of course) - it would have saved all the faff in getting the individual ingredients - or is that not in the "spirit" of things ???

Erm because you don't put any actual pudding in it -just the dried fruit and spices

I just put a jar on mincemeat in my gin, months ago though obviously.

..and does it work ???

The stuff that is festering in my fridge smell wonderful but taste a little Od'd on mixed spice...

Still I suppose I will have to drink ....

So would the addition of the flour/eggs make that much difference to the end result - considering that Christmas Pudding is a glutenous mess even before you start ???

Any hints ???

Yes we used the vodka infused fruit in mince pies. We forgot there were whole clovesin the mix but still tasted nice!
