I am totally skint this year. My outgoings almost exceeding my income.
I need some ideas. For dd 6 I have got the game 'Operation' as she is medically obsessed and she asked for a pop up Wizard of Oz book which I have ordered. My son is 20. He has a comedy dvd and a box of cider (ty costco)
how can I bulk out their gifts ?
Im buying nothing for anyone else and im not doing a Christmas dinner. Dd will be aith her dads family. Ds and I will go to my parent's.

Search stocking fillers on amazon you can get bits and bobs for under a pound.

Promise ds a computer game/ ticket to an event for later in 2014.

Same with dd promise to take her to a show/ concert she wants to see.

Do nice xmassy stuff like walking round your neighbourhood looking at the decorations and coming home to a hot chocolate.

Hope you have a good one x

Hope to find some bargains Christmas eve as im working and can nip out at lunch!

Can you buy things you will be buying anyway shortly, like new tooth brush, pants and socks, bubble bath, etc.

Maybe hit poundland or home bargains, where you will get character ones fairly cheap.

For DD maybe put together a craft box if she is into these things, but from the recycling - so cut up bits of magazines and newspapers, collect up loo roll holders, sturdy boxes etc, then buy a couple of cheap bits - some glitter, glue and pens (very cheap ones) and put it together in a box covered in wrapping paper so it looks substantial.

There is a lot of art stuff and own brand board games in argos most are 2 for 15.

I've got my 7 year old a gigantic pencil filled with art supplies and a fur real bunny in the 2 for 15.

If you look on the mn christmas bargain thread they have a lot of links to cheapy amazon stuff I've got the finger lights and it was 2.60 for 18.

Charity shops have cheap books and amazon sellers sell some for as little as 1p.

Primark do novelty bath stuff and fluffy socks and earwarmers all under a fiver.

Pound shop do cool art stuff and bath things.

Lots of Xmas chocolate about for ds if he has a sweet tooth ?

Hit cheap presents in our house for under 10s have been:

Foamy soap in a tin
Moshi monsters
Lip balm
Soaps shaped like cupcakes/ shoes
Secret diary with a lock on

Thanks for all the ideas! Im actually relieved to have made the decision not to get into more debt over Christmas. We will still have a good time and dd will be spoilt by her family anyway.
Ds and I can perhaps have a trip to the cinema too.
