Christmas Books

I only have 1 christams book which is a lovely version of the nativity ans wanting to order some other ones to read in December.
I have 2 DDs who are 7 and 4, what christmas books do you have and enjoy reading together?

Depends what you're looking for really, traditional, funny etc.

My DD age 4 is currently loving 'Santa Needs a Wee' and 'Santa Comes Up Trumps'. She's loving toilet humour these days

Picture books: Jolly Christmas Postman, Mog's Christmas, Church Mice at Christmas

Chapter book (but short) The Story of Holly and Ivy by Rumer Godden

Holly & Ivy is out of print but available cheaply from Abebooks

I've got Dr Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas ready for Xmas eve this year. DD in particular has become a big Seussite (as have I!) since seeing the Lorax last year

And a nicely illustrated version of 'Twas the night before Christmas is a must, IMO :)

My 3.5 year old loves the dinosaur who pooped Christmas and father Christmas on the naughty step.

Thanks for these suggestions - toilet humour is always a hit in our house too.. shall look at all these later on!

Father Christmas Needs a Wee is popular year round in my house!

There's a lovely Shirley Hughes one called "The Christmas Eve Ghost".

Also, I've bought DS a book called "Father Christmas come to {our hometown}". There seem to be a few of them, might be one for your area.

I love Shirley Hughes, added on to my list too! (this may be more expensive than I had bargained for...!!)

I got my copy from the Book People last year, might be worth checking if they still have it?
