Lightsabres. Recommendations?

I need two, one blue, one green - preferably retractable, definitely light-up, not so fussed about making noise.

These looked ok at first, but have some very negative reviews.

Has anyone done all the googling already and could point me in the right direction? Would be ever so grateful!

We have had several already. DH bought this one which is by far the best one.

We also had this one which is good in that it "retracts" but isn't as impressive light wise.

The one that came with a Darth Vader outfit from Smyths was rubbish - it doesn't light up much & don't think it makes much noise.

Hope this helps Smile

I believe the true jedi way is to make your own lightsabre Wink

DS2 has several. We got the amazon one last year but it wasn't very robust. The FX one is great but not retractable so the second link from misshallot is probably the one you are looking for. Green is really hard to find IME

We have had loads of the plastic non light up one and they have been well played with - they just have to use their imagination....which is sort of the point :o

For good, we have also got the FX ones, The green one is Yoda's as he is only a wee guy, that lightsaber is a bit smaller than the Blue one which I think is Luke Skywalker's.

Those were kept as mainly ornamental as they were selling at £60+ when we got them - fantastic for halloween tho - great in the dark and helps the kids get seen when roaming the streets.

ooh, thank you! All very helpful. Good to know the green one is small - I wonder if that would put off the green-wanting one so that I could get an easier to find colour instead!

lol - it's not tiny, but in the FX ones if they are still the same, it was Yoda's and is smaller and lighter than the blue one - it was my younger son that wanted the green one, so it worked fine for us at the time -I think they were only about 5 & 6 when we got them. They are now 12 and 13 and both over 5' 8/9" so they don't bother having lightsaber fights any more :)

iirc, in the other plastic brands they were all the same size.
The FX ones are meant to be replicas and aren't really toys. They came with a display stand and I guess they were meant to be collectors items. They are a lot cheaper now tho so I guess are bought for children to play with more.

DS's FX didn't come with a stand and it was a lot cheaper - £35, so I think you are right soontobe, they are probably more for the toy market now.
