3rd time lucky I keep writing a long post then accidentally backing out of it Angry.

I need help!
Got 6 adult and 5 kids In total for dinner on Xmas even.
wtf did I agree to do it
I was hoping some of you could help and suggest a meal plan as I have never done this before.

We will have ham (what weight and any suggestions?)
And we will be making our own pigs in blankets.
Any recommended roast potatoes other than aunt Bessie's which aren't that fab imo.

Should I have soup starter,nibbles?
Any Xmas type pudding suggestions?

Thanks.

We are expecting about twelve of the family for Christmas Eve and it has become traditional that we do a sort of Alpine meal, raclette, pierrade plus cheese fondues at each end of the table for veggies. Fairly easy, certainly popular, and very different from the meal on Christmas Day.

My standby for such occasions would be lasagne. If it helps you can make in advance and freeze. Add garlic bread, salad, coleslaw, potato salad etc.
Get your guests shit faced Ply your guests with alcohol and some form of entertainment and they will completely fail to notice the low effort meal :o

Yes it is a rice pudding - but it's not baked so doesn't have a skin. Granny/Mum's recipe describes it as "Danish Rice Pudding" - but because of the whipped cream folded through it it's much lighter than a baked rice pudding. The chopped nuts are important too.

Dh hates rice pudding but loves this Smile

Crotchstitch getting the guest's shit faced is indeed a good idea Grin unfortunately most of the guest can't due to driving, kids etc but I'm sure one of them will be as well as the us the hosts SmileWine.

'Fully loaded' seems an unfortunate phrase in view of what we've been told about Nigella's fondness for cocaine.
