Anyone else having problems with The Book People?

Needed another gift for my niece. TBP had the perfect thing and of course I ended up ordering a load of other stuff. Order arrives and guess what's missing? Yes, the book for niece, which is the only thing I really needed.

They ignore 2 emails so I call them up. Oh dear, sorry I'll send it out priority -2, 3 days max. A week later, nothing. Call them again and it!/ currently being picked, not despatched, may not even arrive by the end of this week. It has been in stock the whole time (according to them) so that isn't the issue.

Am fuming.

Have only used them once before and am thinking never again. Are they usually this shit or have I just been unlucky?

That's so crap. I've never had a problem with them personally (have ordered about five times with them at a guess), shame you did. Hope it arrives ASAP

I suppose this is their busiest time but I have ordered 100s of times from them and always found the service excellent.

One year DS2 had a robot kit from them. There were pieces missing but I was never completely convinced that they were missing before he opened it iyswim. Anyway they replaced it in a couple of days and we didn't have to return the original either. No quibbling at all.

Assuming this is a Christmas gift it's a bit early to be fuming It will turn up in good time.

I ordered a heap of stuff a few months ago. They sent everything out as individual parcels, some with Royal Mail, some with Yodel. The yodel stuff took forever to arrive.

I'm unlikely to order from them again :(

Should have mentioned we're seeing them next weekend for the gift exchange and I'm chocca this weekend and can't get to the shops if this doesn't turn up. So I coukd order something else now and then return the book etx, but am pissed off as I shouldn't have to. I just can't believe they messed up the same order twice. Guess I've just been unlucky.

If you're a costco member they often have the same books at the same price.

I've used them loads of times and never had a problem. Think they're great.

I've always had very good service with them. Think I'm lucky that our local Yodel delivery person is very good too.

I've found the online chat worked very well when I had an issue with using a code and it was sorted out very quickly. Hope you get your book very soon.

I order books every year from TBP and have done for donkeys years. Never had a problem. This Christmas so far, I've ordered two lots and both have arrived inside a few days.
I'd like to think that your experience is unusual OP. I hope you get it soon.
