... My tree is up. And beautiful. I couldn't give a shiny shit that I'm early, I'm so happy every time I look at it. I feel like tiny Tim Grin

I'm a little bit envious. Grin

scurryfunge · 25/11/2013 00:34

Good for you! I would normally wait until mid December but I have just moved in to a very Christmassy house and I am desperate to Christmastise it but am greeted with resistance at the moment.

BOF · 25/11/2013 00:35

I love seeing Christmas trees. But is it real? They are the nicest, but it will be practically dead by Dec 25th, surely? Don't you get sick of it? I put ours up on around the 20th of December.

RevengeWiggle · 25/11/2013 06:22

Mine too! I tried to wait, I really did, but it's lovely and I'm glad I did it. Mines fake, I'm not keen on real ones to be honest because of the smell and the mess.

picnicbasketcase · 25/11/2013 06:33

I'm doing our tree on the first weekend of December, the 7/8th I think. DH will probably say its too early but me and the DC have made an executive decision so nyer Grin

Lagoonablue · 25/11/2013 06:34

You are insane.

TessTackle · 25/11/2013 10:03

BOF it's artificial, real ones make me ill :( I'll try and put a photo on my profile. Spent less than £15 on all decorations I'm so very proud.

Me too Grin

I couldn't wait any longer. I'm a Christmas fanatic.

OddBoots · 25/11/2013 10:07

picnicbasketcase - Sunday is the 1st so I'm making that the first weekend of December in this house.

TessTackle · 25/11/2013 10:12

Photos are up! I have garlands etc left over from my poundland splurge so I think I might well decorate the rest of the flat tonight.

FakeAngel · 25/11/2013 10:14

Mine went up yesterday! Like you I couldn't give a flying one how early it is. It looks beautiful! Fir cones and berries and twinkly lights, plus swathes of greenery on every available surface :) We always put ours up on the last Sunday in November so we can enjoy them for all of December and until Twelfth Night - just so happens the last Sunday in November was very early this year not that I'm complaining

And now I'm listening to Christmas music on the tv so nerrr to all the 'it's too early' naysayers :D

TessTackle · 25/11/2013 10:16

Fake it was my DD's birthday on Friday and as soon as it's finished I always feel Christmassy. Her face this morning when she saw it was well worth the nay sayers' nay saying Grin

Grin @ Tiny Tim.

WaitMonkey · 25/11/2013 10:18

Good on you, I say. Mine is going up on Sunday. Can not wait. Smile

50ShadesofXmas · 25/11/2013 13:02

Dh says that as this coming weekend is not the first weekend in dec (even though sun is 1st!) he said no tree until 7/8th!!

Would it unreasonable to ltb? Or just wrap him up in tinsel until he agrees?

HSMMaCM · 25/11/2013 13:10

My tree goes up on the 1st.

jamtoast12 · 25/11/2013 13:12

Ah jealous, I'm putting decorations up Saturday but we get a real tree so putting that up on 7/8th. We go all national lampoons and end up getting one so big it is trimmed once in place!!

HavingAnOffDAy · 25/11/2013 13:59

I'm pleased for you. We're having work done on the house ATM & I can't get mine up until 7th or 8th.

I can't see the pics on your profile though

DitsyDonkey · 25/11/2013 15:11

Well done, I'm literally counting down the days until Sunday the first of Dec. to put ours up. We put up two real ones so even at that it is pushing it, in terms of them lasting.

But usually they are fine, even the one in the kitchen right beside the big range doesn't start to look limp until the first few days in January.

It's so exciting! Unfortunately though I have to clean the bloody house first, I was supposed to be doing it today.....don't ask!

nickdrakeslovechild · 26/11/2013 14:35

Can I just ask, those of you who have put them up already do you live in the uk? If not which country are you in? Just being nosey really, the only place I know where they put them up earlier is U.S.A and Philippines.

ThreeMyselfAndI · 26/11/2013 14:52

me too, put it up this afternoon. I had to really I went and spent £100 and the restWink on new tree decorations and a new tree and found all last years in the exact same colours in the cupboard Shock dh was less than impressed, so put them up before he made me return then Grin

TessTackle · 26/11/2013 20:49

Nick I'm a Londoner I just love Christmas!

OP posts:
IamInvisible · 26/11/2013 20:56

I don't do ours until around the 15th. I usually have one in the lounge and the dining room, but I just can not be bothered this year because DH won't be home so it doesn't feel like Christmas.

My intentions at the moment are to put the smaller tree up in the lounge, but when it comes to it I will probably put the bigger on up.

It's the taking down that pisses me off!

TessTackle · 26/11/2013 21:13

Yes invisible!!! I did all the putting up myself but I'll make ask DP to take it down Grin
