Any recommendations for a good remote control vehicle for rough ground?

DS is 9 and saw a remote control monster truck in a shop somewhere and said he'd love one for Xmas.

DP and I thought it would be a good idea as there is loads of space around us where he could use one but it would be on quite rough ground (un-made track, rough grassed field, all on a slope/hill etc).

Obviously there are loads of them out there in every toy shop, department store and so on, but is there such a thing as a r/c vehicle that can cope with this sort of rough terrain that doesn't cost £££s?

I think this might have been the one he saw but would that be up to the job or do they tend to be a bit crap at that sort of price.

I really have no idea!

I have just taken delivery of one of these www.amazon.co.uk/Nikko-Radio-Control-Vaporizr-Blue/dp/B005EFQ1J0/ref=pd_sim_k_h_b_cs_1. Not tried it yet but got really good reviews and is supposed to be able to cope with water, sand and snow.

Now that's interesting because a general search on Amazon and looking for +ve reviews led me to that as well.

Have you bought it for a Xmas present or is it for before then? If before Xmas I'd be interested to know what it's like please.

ds has the nikko vaporizer, it's fab, best remote control car he's had, we didn't get it to go well on snow but it's done sand, woodland, grass!

That sounds reassuring - it would probably cope with the terrain we have then.

Anyone else have any recommendations?

Hope you don't mind me joining this thread. my ds wants a rc car. He originally spotted a massive monster truck he saw in asda but after reading some awful reviews, about poor battery life and disappointed children I managed to get him to change his mind and prefer the one you linked to!! But like the look of the nikko one too...

No, feel free to join - help me drum up some responses and recommendations!

Watching with interest, as DS has put the Nikko on his list for Father Christmas.
The thing that's putting me off making his dres come true are the reviews I've read about battery life, and the fact that spare batteries seem to cost more than the truck!

You can use the blusmart CR to solve the problem that your remote control car has encountered.
