How to go about drying oranges?

For the last three or four years I've been making my own arrangements for the table, island and the mantelpiece.

I generally use tons of greenery, pine cones and dried orange slices.

However the oranges usually start to go mouldy....what am I doing wrong?

Are you using the orange slices in a steamy kitchen diner, or on an arrangement in wet florists foam because this exposure to moisture will make them take on water and go mouldy. I think that commercially dried ones probably have some sort of mould inhibitor added to them.

Yeah I use the wet floral foam....that may be my problem. Though I usually keep the oranges near the top away from the foam!
