Which tablet for DS?

I am considering buying 3 yo DS an "iPad" for Christmas. Obviously not an actual regualr iPad though. Just something that makes sense to him IYSWIM.
Any idea what the most appropriate brand for a 3yo would be?
Or am I insane?l

Um why would a 3 year old need a tablet!? Get the boy some Lego!

Seriously exposure to screens at that age is completely unnecessary and not age appropriate.

I'm seriously worried for the next generation and how much their social skills are going to be damaged by overuse of iPhones, iPads etc.

Well, I take your point on board.
He does have Lego and books etc.i might just get Lego tbh.
But the point is that familiarity with a tablet is, IMHO, a bit like familiarity with a newspaper. It's how information is accessed (won't be logging him into MN) and I am considering it as I think I pt might be useful for him to learn how to us current technology and grow with it.

personally not keen on little ones having real tablets but have u considered the innotab or leappad as these are more suitable for his age.

Although we got an innotab for my dd last year age 4 and tbh she's more interested in her little figures or occasionally going on the computer with me.

Yes I thought about the leap pad.
Tbh. As an older mum I prefer the old fashioned toys.
But I think there might be some value in the dcs understanding these things and having a degree of technical literacy.

your right, they do need to know how to use these things, as it is the world we live in.
but at 3.. hes more than likely to break it.

i think a good compermise would be buying a family tablet, thats for every one to use.

than buy him more normal toys.
