She's 10 and would love something like this

Like the idea of adding charms that she can pick over time

Not sure where to look?

Tia!

How much are you looking to spend? I would say Pandora but they can be quite expensive.

notnowbernard · 19/11/2013 14:42

Hmm, I considered pandora too but prob a bit expensive for a 10yr old

I was thinking 30-40 for the bracelet with 1 charm... Then could add to it

But struggling to find anything (h Samuel a bit crap, Argos tat)

Also, are charms 'generic'? Does any charm fit most bracelets?

My niece had a nice one from Links of London, but I don't know how much it cost.

I love my pandora bracelet (after pooh-poohing them for a couple years, ahem) and they are great to grow up with, as it were, but the extra issue there is that they only go as small as 16cm. I have a 17cm one, and granted I have really small wrists, but it's big on me and I'm definitely not a 10yo! They get a bit looser once you've had them on a few weeks, so allow for that if you did go for one.

Troll beads, Pandora and Chamilia charms all fit on each other, and the 'fake' beads generally do too - although all of the companies say not to mix and match (ie putting non-pandora beads on their bracelets invalidates the warranty).

Trollbeads do smaller bracelets, but again similar prices to pandora, although you could always splash out on the bracelet for longevity and then use ebay for the charms!

I've looked at Links and as gorge as it is, I'm not spending £80+ on a bit of jewellery for a 10yr old! That's without any charms as well.

Was thinking £40, max

That's useful, Reveal, thanks

There's been a few threads on the MSE forum about cheap beads in the last few days - might be worth a look.

How about looking on Etsy?

Gnocchgnocch · 19/11/2013 19:45

Pia?
A few different types of charm bracelet. Really reasonably priced.

notnowbernard · 19/11/2013 19:46

Think I've found it, hurrah

HurleyBurley Jr - £29, clip on charms £10 each

That's more my budget Grin

Can't link on phone, but it's a nice silver chain-style bracelet with a heart locket. Then you can add charms

Dd will love it (I hope)

Just came in to say my dds 9 and 12 both have a nomination bracelet which is lovely and I think it is about )£30 for bracelet and one charm, available from Joshua James

NellieTheEllie · 19/11/2013 19:49

this is really lovely jewellry. I've bought these for christening presents before. I think they are a bit nicer for a child than Pandora etc.

notnowbernard · 19/11/2013 20:03

Thanks everyone

i bought my god daughter a silver bracelet and charms from www.thesilvershop.eu.com

honeybeeridiculous · 19/11/2013 20:56

Thomas sabo website

canmykidsplaywithyours · 19/11/2013 21:25

Thomas sabo do really nice charm bracelets. The charms themselves start from about £18 i think. I recently got one of their stretchy black bracelets which can hold up to 3 charms. It was £16 and with just 1 charm, it doesnt look lost! I cant link as on phone!
