Dd2 aged 9 has been desperate for a pair for about 2 years. I'm stuck for her this year and its all she says when I ask her.

Is she going to break her neck/split her skull ?

Will they be a one minute wonder ?

Any tips ?

As long as youbdont go to Costo, they have banned heeleys because of kids smashing into warehouse containers.

I find them annoying & frustrating trying to dodge them with a pushchair or trolley. The kids never get out of ypur way & their parents always give you an evil stare. Please buy her something else electronic so she will sit & stare at the screen & not get in anyones way

My then 8 year old DD (now 15) got some for her birthday. Took them to a roller disco at a holiday camp, fell over, broke her arm in two places, ended up having operation under general and a stay in hospital. So I wouldn't buy them again!

Interestingly, seven years later she will still not do things like ice skating because she is frightened of falling over.

DD1 wanted these one year.
She wore them about 5 times I think, but couldn't master them.

Luckily we got them second hand off ebay, and sold them back there too.

imo Roller blades are better as they expand with the foot as the child grows. (And if you can master roller blades it makes ice skating much easier too).

My dd had a pair of these a few years ago - she wore them to death and loved them. They are too small for her now and ds is learning to use them and enjoys playing on them. They have been worth the money and NO ACCIDENTS in our house from them. We have quite good pathways near to us for using them - I think that helps with how much they have been used.
