Trying to think of an arty gift for my ds6. I have fond memories of playing with Spirograph at this age. It seems they have updated it somewhat with a 3d function. Does anyone know if this is any good?

Any other suggestions for creative gifts appreciated. Thanks :)

Hi -

I had a set, back in the '60s and used it for years; still have some of my best 'creations' with it, somewhere. I've looked at web site, and it certainly looks like it ought to be OK. Here web site:

Similar effects could also be achieved by writing programs for the £25 Raspberry Pi computer (but it needs keyboard, monitor or TV, and printer if you wanted to print results. Our DS was writing computer programs, aged 6, on a very primitive computer, 25 years ago.) Obviously, you probably don't want to pay so much, but I'll give you the link anyway, as computer programming could be coming into primary schools in the future:

I've bought spirograph this year but the DDs are also asking for super grafix so they've got that too!
