I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about tbh!

BUT at that age my dds liked:
sketch books and good sketching pencils, pastels etc

secret diaries with locks

we got them both a little silver locket at around that age, which went down well

PJs always well received, especially if there were fluffy socks alongside!

Anything to do with dressing up - pieces of velvet, sari fabric, face paints etc

origami paper from Muji

Grin she saw a toy minion, from the film Despicable Me 2. It looks pointless...you tilt its head and it makes a farting sound which apparently is the funniest thing ever Hmm

Thank you, really good ideas esp silver locket and origami paper.

Dd is 7 soon to be 8 and is getting the following

Password journal
Roller skates
Sylvanian families fish & chip van
Lego friends high school

Retropear · 17/11/2013 16:51

Kidz Lab crystal mining kit

Rainbow Loom

Just get her the farting minion Grin and then get her a few craft sets so when you get fed up with the minion you can distract her with something else. My dd2 is almost 8 and is getting the moshi mall (even though its tat and it will break its the only thing she has really asked for), have also got her a chocolate making kit, desk top drum kit, moxie girlz doll and some craft sets.

Dd 8 and getting lego friends, furby, top models craft sets, karaoke machine, frozen movie fancy dress, stompeez and craft sets.

Raptorrethy · 17/11/2013 19:40

Thank you! Crystal mining set looks great and just her kind of thing. Password diary - I'd forgotten she'd asked for this ages ago as well. She loves Moshi Monsters too but I think she's now settled on Lego Lord of the Rings for her 'big' present and not the yellow plastic tat farting minion - phew!!

I'm going my dd 8 the National Geographic book on rocks to go with it.

Does your dd like Harry Potter?

My dd is also hoping for the SF village store.

Raptorrethy · 17/11/2013 19:55

She ADORES Harry Potter! Gryffindor scarf already bought Grin

She has the whole Hermione outfit already plus wand from Harry Potter at Universal Studios and Hedwig...can you recommend anything else?

:) For somebody who loves words, I am absolutely awful at anagrams and would never have noticed that!

NorbertDentressangle · 17/11/2013 20:46

Thank you for the link - I thought it sounded like a fun, silly, stocking filler for DS but not at that price!

Marne · 18/11/2013 13:23

There's a lovely Harry Potter pop up book on amazon for around £12.
