I didn't realise how complex they were before I started looking at them. I am just about ready to purchase now and have made my mind up on the Slamm Fury as being a good buy for my almost 10 year old, quality wise. Would anyone in the know out there, agree? The one thing I am still hesitating over is the fact that MGP seem to be the brand of choice. Am I right in thinking to get an MGP that meets the spec of the Fury I would need to up my budget to circa £150?? This is a new interest for my son and I don't think I want to spend that much at this stage until I see how he gets on with it. Also can someone explain what stunt pegs are used for and is there a way to lock them up in the school playground?

You need a tiny lock, like this.
But would you want to leave it in the rain, do you have a proper shelter at the school?

I don't know if I could spend that much on my 10yo, either!

What about going 2nd hand?

Stunt scooters are better for stunts rather than riding to & from school, anyway (smaller wheels).

Yes there is a shelter at school. He'll be trying our stunts at local skate park but I know he'll want to take it to school too and they have a mini trail there. I wonder if I can get them locks as a combination instead of a key.

I spoke to a scooter company about stunt scooters. He said ensure its a sturdy frame. That's where the pressure is focused on it when doing stunts. I guess that is pretty obvious really!

There are tiny combination locks, look for ski locks for instance.
