nice room decorations?

Has anyone seen any nice ceiling decorations etc?

our house is kind of hard to decorate. We don't have windowsills due to weird construction of our house, we have no fireplace, basically just big square rooms!

I had some garland-y type things a couple of years ago that we strung round the ceiling, but they broke easily and were a bit tacky.
NOW... I actually don't mind a bit of tack, but it needs to be good quality tack lol. or something pretty... i don't know really... any ideas?

I'd love to get some things that would last for quite a few years without breaking so when it comes out we all feel like christmas has really come, if that makes sense?

Poundland have packs of three paper snowflakes for hanging from the ceiling and a nice felt 'Merry Christmas' banner that you string yourself onto gingham ribbon.

Our rooms are a bit oddly shaped too so don't really suit the long shiny garland-ey things you can get. I was going to dot snowflakes about and maybe some strings of cotton wool snow. & maybe some diy paper snowflakes for the window if there's time when I've finished the bead candy canes for the tree
