Christmas book for DS (8)

I've bought a Christmas themed book for DD (10) and DS (4). They are to be read during December. DS (8) could do with one too. I'll read it to him. Just looking for any recommendations.

How good a reader is he? I don't think I was too much older than that when I read and loved The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper.

Oh, lots of ideas, thanks. Yes wintery rather than just Christmas. He's a poor reader so I will read it to him BUT I don't want anything too babyish either (he listen's to his brother's stories so gets his fix of fun picture books then).
