He's so cute! He's got a flashing nose and then I bought skates for him and a lead and little bobble hat.
I want to keep him for myself.

I was a bit like this though Confused when they told me to kids the heart and make a wish. That's a step too far I think. Then they suggested the red skates so it would coordinate with his nose Hmm

Still very pleased, very cute!

Kiss the heart!

Sounds very cute. The heart bit sounds cringeworthy though!

kelda · 08/11/2013 10:51

I've always wanted to take my children there. SOunds fun.

Mittensonkittens · 08/11/2013 11:03

Yes I refused to kiss the heart and make a special wish.

Rudolph is adorable though, I'm might sit my elf on him!

ohh you have to kiss the heart and jump up and down/turn round 3 times...

its not cringworthy.. essp not for the children.

i took ds2 for his birthday last y ear and they both loved it.

i am a little Envy that you have one.. i want one.. i have a £5 off voucher to use.. i may h ave to do this next month lol.

WaitMonkey · 08/11/2013 14:17

I am very Envy . I want one.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 08/11/2013 14:20

Ds has that one from a few years ago along with the dvd he is from that we watch at christmas.

Mittensonkittens · 08/11/2013 15:05

But I wasn't with a child... I was on my own! Although Rudoph is for ds...supposedly. I may borrow him on occasion. He also plays 'Rudolph the red nose reindeer' which I may live to regret as it might get irritating, quickly.

Could be worse ours had snippets from the film so we had 'Cute? Cute? She said I'm cute!'

Thankfully the batteries went Grin

Consider yourself lucky, that is a simple heart ceremony, and the very minimum the staff are allowed to get away with. Every one is meant to be different and some of them get very involved and energetic, especially for the kids and groups of lads

I say this as an ex-BABW manager. please dont banish me forever

Mittensonkittens · 08/11/2013 15:33

She was quite insistent, I waited for her to look away and then pretended I'd kissed the heart. I felt like a loon. They she showed me the coordinated clothing range, honestly Rudolph has better clothes and boots than me!

Was it a happy smiley place to work or did it drive you mad? I think it could go either way!

Generally it was a great place to work. It had its moments though, sometimes at the end of a long busy week, it could be difficult to keep up the happy, cheery, energy filled persona, on those days I did paperwork. Most of the staff though were always like that, and tended to be performing arts students, so was natural to them.

Its a shop best avoided for the two weeks after Christmas unless you really have to.

Mittensonkittens · 08/11/2013 15:42

I think I'd quite like working there. Although they do seem to try and upsell everything - do you want a sound, a beating heart, buy the shoes, but the skates, buy an outfit, get a hat, how about some pajamas etc etc

camwombat · 08/11/2013 15:50

Welcome to the world of retail, and its the right environment for upselling. It is very easy to spend a lot of money there, especially if you have your children with you.

Mittensonkittens · 08/11/2013 15:55

This is true - I fear if ds had been with me Rudolph would have ended up with an outfit for every day of the week. And the pajamas!
