Is anybody in the know?

The release date is set for 29th November as far as I know which means I'm going to have to preorder ASAP aren't I?

Is Amazon usually ok for things like this or would I be better off going to a supermarket or somewhere else?

Op I reserved the PS4 in July with ToysRUs by paying a tenner deposit. I popped in there yesterday because ds2 birthday is coming up and they said most shops have used up their allocation already and stopped taking reservations. So if you see anywhere offering preorder I would do it

DH is pretty frugal with getting deals and stuff and he's pre-ordered from Amazon. I think prices will be pretty standard at release - the only savings will be on bundles (console + peripheries and/or games) IIRC from the last time he got excited and showed me things on Amazon he's getting some deal with an extra controller (which are £50+ separately) and the camera. However I think he qualifies for the deal because we were exceptionally sad and pre-ordered on the very first day

Any idea how much it will be Mrs Dimitri? I'm poised off because all the new ps3 games we have won't work on the PS4

We have the xbox One on order after many hours talking to earnest young men in Game :o The advice for both consoles is basically the same....
Apparently the prices are fairly uniform and unlikely to drop anytime soon. Pre-ordering is an absolute must so pretty much what you have been told up there. The xbox is also not "backwards compatible" (as I believe it is called) but DS currently only has a Wii so not such an issue for us but still bloody expensive

Meant to say that as prices are not really set to fluctuate I would buy from the place where you will get the most loyalty points, cashback etc :)

I'm buying it as a joint xmas present for dh and ds x2 but I've no idea how much the bloody thing will be. Esp now this thread has reminded me that not only is it not ' backwards compatible' but we will need new controllers too? Wtf!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings journey but the xbox is £429 and I can't imagine the PS4 being much different thank God for helpful grandparents

We've pre ordered the ps4 from Game
They told us we should get it in time for christmas but we're not in line for one of the first batch so we'll have to wait & see.

PS4 on its own on Amazon is £349.99 - cheaper than the XBone.

The bundle we're getting (I think) is £429.99, which has the camera, an extra controller and the Killzone game (meh)

I am going to hold off on teh PS4 / xbox one for another year or so

I should say that this is partly a joint family Christmas present, partly DH giving himself a once-in-a-blue moon treat and will have a huge chunk paid off with the money MIL gives us for Christmas. We don't usually spend this sort of money!

If DS was not the only grandchild, meaning my DP's cannot deny him what his heart desires, we simply couldn't justify it.
As it is they are going halves with us but even so.....
I was in Game today adding money to my gift card (which I am saving the money on whilst devoutly praying I don't lose it or they go bust) and it just hit me what an obscene amount of money it was
