Last year for christmas I got my friend a cake subscription, she had a new cake every month sent to her for six months.

I'd like to do a similar thing for my dad but with pickles or chutneys. He's diabetic so doesn't eat sweet things. I don't suppose anyone knows of anywhere that does a chutney subscription?! I can't find anywhere so far...

Sorry I can't help on the chutney but please tell me more about the cake subscription!

this place do food club subscriptions which include chutmeys ets - it seems to be mainly savoury food:

might be something suitable here?:

Ahh that 2nd link seems to be USA companies :(

again another one that does a mix of fine foods:

i've heard that the stuff these people do is delicious, you could just do your own order every month?

or a hamper from here:

I have definately seen in one of my magazines a subscription you could buy and the recipient got a different cake every month.....

......leave it with me while I have a quick look...

Aldwick these are LOVELY - www.megrivers.co.uk/

Mittensonkittens · 01/11/2013 11:53

Thank you!
Maybe I will just have to send him some each month...the hawkshead stuff looks nice.

It was cake club through not on the high street that did the cake subscription.

Aren't chutneys full of sugar? I have the same problem with my diabetic dad.

Mittensonkittens · 01/11/2013 12:09

The savoury ones seem to be ok - like onion or tomato etc. he does have some flexibility in what he eats so should be ok I think!

Good God. The cake ones work out about £7 or £8 per small slice don't they?

Aldwick · 01/11/2013 12:13

Thank you! Present dilemma for my difficult sister solved. What a genius idea.

Mittensonkittens · 01/11/2013 12:40

Yes it wasn't cheap! It was nice though...
