DSS is 12 years old and I have no idea what to get him for Christmas. He's quite outdoorsy and likes farms and tractors but think he's just about growing out of them so think they'd be a bit wasted. Budget is about £100....any ideas would be greatly appreciated Smile

11yo DS has asked for a 3DS, he might get a 2DS (about your budget), I wanted to get him an e reader, but he's said that he really really doesn't want one. He'd quite like a tablet but I feel he's too young (although there are threads about 7yo getting iPad minis so I'm clearly out of touch there!).

How about a dirt stunt scooter?

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/321228319844?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&lpid=95&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=95&ff19=0

My boys have these and they are great for dirt tracks and the like instead of a standard stunt scooter which is better for concrete and skate parks.

meant to say my boys are 12 and 13 and adult sized and weight.

Does he like Bear Grylls?
Ds is getting a Bear Grylls survival kit and DVDs and a knife!

DS wants a rowing machine. Which I think is a bit odd, but he is very keen! It will have to be second hand...

His own tent? Walkie talkies?

frazzled74 · 31/10/2013 22:19

I would get him a kindle fire, my 7 and 10 year old have one to share, there are lots of free games/apps, they can download books and audiobooks.

what is it about farms/tractors that he liked?

is it the machinery? if so, perhaps a combustion engine kit to build;

and/ or some Lego Technic eg

outdoorsy; how about my current favourite recommendation, a telescope and a trip to a dark sky park. Perhaps a tent, sleeping bag and a penknife to go with it all?
