He has got a balance bike, wooden train set, duplo, marble run, car garage etc, and numerous other things already (not for Christmas, just already in the house!) and are struggling with ideas for what to get him. Any suggestions welcome :)

I assume he's 2??? Rather than your second son?

We've bought DD (who is 2) a small keyboard and then will fill a stocking with new dress, more books, new crayons and colouring books, some Sylvanian families stuff for her dolls house, some jigsaws, maybe some audio story CD's, some Thomas tank engines (Gordon if I can find him), and a purse filled with old receipts and cards (to try and keep her away from my real purse!!!). If I have the time I will try and knit some jumpers for her teddies.

Basically she has enough 'big' stuff and while she's still little I am going to keep xmas low key.

Yes, sorry, he's 2! He is DC3 and has had the train track and marble run handed down.
Thanks for the other ideas, his stocking will contain similar items, crayons and some instruments, books and puzzles, bubble bath, inflatable football, Gruffalo bath bombs and pairs cards, and whatever else I can find him. He also likes my purse actually, maybe I can find him a cast off of mine!

Toy kitchen and food? Or if you have that already, maybe a till or trolley?

Happyland stuff is good, too. My dd loves the london bus.

Other recent hits here have been a doctor's set, dressing up stuff and a tool set.

For christmas we're getting her the le toy van pirate ship and pirates, which I think she'll like.

Where do you get Gruffalo bath bombs ? They sound amazing.

libertychick · 27/10/2013 23:01

YY to a toy shopping trolley - DD loves her's and when any friends are here there are battles over it!

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 27/10/2013 23:03

WE have kitchen and food, but could get a till. Haven't gone down the Happyland route yes, is it like a playmobil/sylvanian type set up, where you can collect for years? We have PM and SF already for the DDs, wouldn't know where to start with a whole new collection!
He is into pirates though, so a pirate ship might be a good idea, thank you :)
Wait, the bath bombs are in Sainsburys. Ours have quite a large range of Gruffalo things. They are just normal bath bombs in character packaging though, don't get your hopes up too much!

I second the doctors kit, my DD got one for her 2nd birthday and it still gets played with most days now a year later.

My DS has just turned 2 (last week). The biggest hits for presents have been a Lightening McQueen car that makes noises when you press buttons on the top, little matchbox size cars (rather than chunky plastic ones) a Little People Airport (already has the garage), and a little wooden train set.

We also got him a scooter which he is just big enough to stand on and sort of wheel it around.

For Christmas we wont be going mad with lots of presents, but he will be getting Cars 1 & 2 dvd, a magnetic drawing board, bath bubbles, toothbrush, socks, torch, some sort of dress up hat & accessories, more little cars, a book or two, maybe some play food. We are undecided what else to get him as he's not into kitchens and is just car mad.
