Salt dough recipe needed!

Am looking to make my DD's grandparents salt dough ornaments of her handprint for their trees.

There are lots of recipes out there and many of them are American so have cup measurements - anyone have any tried or tested recipes or know how much a cup is! Grin

You can use any size cup really. As long as you use twice as much flour to salt then it works. Use your standard coffee mug perhaps.

Some recipes suggest a spoonful of oil, but I never bother. Just 2 mugs worth of plain flour, a mug full of salt and enough water to make it come together to form a dough.

Thank you 2kids!

How long do you normally pop the dough in the oven for?

You can buy the cups in Tesco, Debenhams, John Lewis etc. They are quite useful if you have US cookbooks, and don't cost a lot.
