How do you present a hamper?

Sorry, I know it's a weird question but I've never given a hamper before.

I'm giving a couple of hampers as Christmas gifts this year after pinching the idea from here! But how do you present your hamper? Do you just hand the basket to your recipient? Do you wrap it up? Stick it in a gift bag? Tie a ribbon round it? I think cellophane might be a nice way of presenting it but where would you get cellophane wrap big enough to go round a hamper basket?

Any suggestions gratefully received :)
TIA Thanks

I buy my cellophane from ebay.

I buy my cellophane from Baker Ross & depending on the width of my basket I double tape my cellophane to make it extra wide iyswim. Then I finish it off with ribbon.

I have also bought a few of these baskets from Home & Bargains.

I've bought food on offer & put it way from places like M&S, Waitrose, Tesco & Morrisons.

I made a hamper last year for my partners parents, we bought a wicker basket, put lots of shredded tissue paper in to make the items stand better. We purchased some cellophane from out local garden center it was very cheap and they gave us a little extra as they had some left overs! We placed all the bits and bobs and wrapped the cellophane around the wicker basket and tied a big (christmasy) Bow on top. It looked really nice and they loved it. (I also had lots of fun doing it) Grin

Thanks all, really appreciate it. Cellophane, shredded tissue and big Christmassy bow it is then and lots of other stuff to think about :)
