What to buy an (almost) 11 year old girl?

I need to get a Christmas gift for a 10 year old girl (11 in January)

I only have a toddler so i'm clueless.

She is very fashion conscious, arty, likes making things and doing projects and drawing. I don't want to end up getting anything too "babyish" for her! Anyone here got a girl in that age range and knows what they like?

Dd is 11 in February she would love a messenger bag with either Minecraft, Mario or One Direction on the flap. She likes nice stationery and art supplies, she'd be over the moon at a gift card for Amazon or H&M or a nice hat and gloves or fluffy socks and pjs or a onesie. Really she is easily pleased.

DD is that age and loves receiving gift cards for New Look and Claire's. I know some people think they are not a thoughtful present but these are always her favourites and what she asks for if people ask her what she wants. She loves spending them.

I glanced at the thread title and thought it said "Where to buy an (almost) 11 year old girl!

Perhaps there are few MNetters who feel like selling theirs? Grin

My fashion conscious DD would like to receive somethng like this - it is also crafty (the particular one linked may be overpriced, plus my DD is a bit younger)

thank you for your replies. and educating I'm quite sure plenty of 11 year olds would be for sale at one moment or other of the week :)

I got DN this bracelet making set for her 11th birthday and she was really pleased with it.

My dd is 11.5, so a bit older, but I would tend to avoid anything with OneD etc as some will HATE them . . . I think even last Christmas she would have found the charm bracelet kit linked a bit young, she loved that stuff a few years back but these days it tends to sit in the cupboard unused.

Agree fluffy socks, really nice soft scarf/gloves, stylish winter hat, Clares / New Look voucher all a good idea, you can't really go wrong. DD particularly loves nice socks esp as she always wears out her favourites.

A Klutz book.

They are books with instructions and materials that enable you to make nice crafts. DD1 got a Beaded Bobby Pin one at age 11 that got endless use. It led her to earring design as many of the beading and wire cutting skills were transferrable. I still have many of her little beaded dragon fly clips and also many earrings she made.

There are other really interesting Klutz titles and ime all are really good quality. The other DDs all got Klutz knitting, paper flowers, peel off nail polish kits, safety pin bracelets and other bracelet kits over the years. All were very well loved.

DD4 was getting into baking in a big way at that age and I got her a really nice quality cake decorating set and apron along with proper kitchen quality food colouring so she could bake and decorate to her heart's content. She now (age 12) provides most of the goodies we enjoy, all nicely decorated, and we are working on kitchen cleanup skills Wink.

Dd is the same age and hates 1D and Justin Bieber.
She'd love a gift card from Claire's or New Look and spend ages deciding what to buy.
