And how old are they?

DS 4, nothing, as he doesn't really get the concept yet. However he keeps saying he is Fix It Felix when he's dressing up so I'm attempting to make an outfit for him. Everything else will be surprises.

DD 6, hasn't specifically said "can I have xxx for Xmas" and we don't do Xmas lists or anything. But there are a few things she is blatantly lusting after - a onesie, playmobil swimming pool, and a new dress up outfit as she's outgrown all hers. All will be provided although she has no idea we've even taken note of these wishes so I reckon it'll be a big surprise :)

They have no awareness of 'latest toys' etc as they don't see adverts so making the most of it :o

Leopoldina · 23/10/2013 15:24

Lady Montdore - goodness me, Mother! I had no idea you were on here.

Heathcliff27 · 23/10/2013 15:30

DD 9 wants a tablet, Dd4 wants sylvanian familes

BellaVita · 23/10/2013 15:39

DS2 (14) a mountain bike. He has been given a £450 budget. The bike he wants is £400 but he has filled the basket right to the brim with bits and bobs to make it exactly £450 Hmm

DS1 (16) on the other hand... Different kettle of fish altogether... He has asked for one thing - series 8 of How I Met Your Mother which cost about 20 quid. And honestly, if we only bought him that he would be absolutely made up on Xmas day.

How did I manage to get two boys so blimmin' different?

BellaVita · 23/10/2013 15:50

pistey, DH got a road bike a few months ago. He got himself (after buying the bike) some insurance through the British Cycling. He then realised he could have got his bike a lot cheaper had he become a member before buying the bike.

I won't lie to you though, the hobby has cost a small fortune. Mud flaps, tool kits, pump, little pack for the bike to house such things, arm band for iPhone so he can listen to music and use run keeper, heart rate monitor, helmet, shoes, peddles for said shoes, Lycra. Although Aldi at the moment have got some fab cycling gear in - DH got loads of stuff, it is all lovely quality too. I had previously bought him a pair of shorts, a top and a thin jacket which came to £125 from a cycle shop. He got stacks of stuff for £85. Worth having a look.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/10/2013 15:55

Bella - I might come to you for advice! DS aged 14 had a mountain bike for his birthday back in June. DD needs to add in further training for her rowing, and cycling is the thing she thinks she will add. She has also grown out of her bike. Last one she had was a mountain type bike. Bloomin expensive things

BellaVita · 23/10/2013 16:05

Yes, very expensive. DH had normal peddles and used normal trainers to start with. After changing to cycling shoes and road bike peddles (I think when he bought the bike it came without and he just got normal as he wasn't sure how seriously he was going to take it) he said it is amazing how much faster you can go when your feet are clipped in. And of course the bikes are so much lighter than a mountain bike.

DH needs to add some upper body strength in and he has bought some weights. When he cycles he can burn nearly 3000 cals in one go Shock

We are leaving buying DS's bike to nearer Xmas as DH is worried he may have a growth spurt between now and then.

Needingthework · 23/10/2013 16:13

DS1 (12): BMX and a dog (he'll be getting the first)

DS2 (8) Lego, books and 'anything on China' Confused

DS3 (6): Playmobil Police station and a bobble hat...

ChaosTrulyReigns · 23/10/2013 16:15

My four (14 down to 7) want oxfam goats.

Tanfastic · 23/10/2013 16:21

Ds 5 wants
Xbox avengers game
Ninja Turtle Van
Scooby doo crystal cove
Doggy Doo Doo game Confused

comeandgo · 23/10/2013 17:49

Dd1 is 5yo and has a birthday before Christmas so she has two sets of presents to think of but despite her birthday being in less than two weeks all she come up with is a dream lites pillow pets. She's not very helpful!

DD2 is almost 3yo and hasn't got a clue so hasn't asked for anything - although I think she would be over the moon with a bag of apples as thats all she ever seems to want; an apple Grin

Rosvita · 23/10/2013 19:05

Ds 5 has asked for,and I quote:
'A roc And rol Gitur
A CAJ
Litol reslus
A Jrumcit
A noo scIlAndos Gam
A LeGo site Gam
A Hare potu Gam on Ds'

Translates as:
a rock and roll guitar (have got him a paper jamz one)
a cage (he means wwe cage to go over his toy ring-have not bought him this)
little wrestlers (have bought him another wwe figure and a friend has bought him another)
a drumkit (not bought this as I have my old real drumkit at my parents house which he can,and does, play there)
A new skylanders game (he means swapforce, which I have bought as previous skylanders a big hit in this house)
Lego City Game (have bought him on 3ds and had to buy the console too so I could get the game-his old dsi is being handed down to dd)
A Harry Potter Game on ds (have bought this too)

He knows not I expect to get everything on the list and I am all too aware too many computer games are on it so I have also got him some more 'hearty' gifts such as doodle book, fossil kit and useful things such as new pj's.

Dd will only be 3 so not really asked for anything but she keeps pointing out the disney princess castle (which I have managed to get for a bargain second hand on ebay) and I've just got her other things I think she'll like.

BeaWheesht · 23/10/2013 19:24

curiousgeorgie there is a new toy story put on sky for Halloween - it's not a full length film but maybe this is what she's seen?

Ds (turning 7)
Stunt scooter
Disney infinity for wii
Lego
Indiana jones toys

Dd (3)
A Barbie annoyingly enough
Some sweeties
A whole bag of apples just for her Smile

BeaWheesht · 23/10/2013 19:25

comeandgo I wrote my post re dd before seeing yours. How funny.

curiousgeorgie · 24/10/2013 00:26

Thanks Bea! I'll look into it! Grin

buzzgirly · 24/10/2013 06:54

Dd 5 would like Doc McStuffins and Monster High, that's it - no specific detail at all!!

So she's getting a doctors set and a couple of MH dolls along with the car.

Ds will be almost 2 at Xmas and loves pirates at the moment so will find something on that theme.

gemdrop84 · 24/10/2013 07:00

Dd is 5, she has asked for an innotab, not too sure about them to be honest. Ds will be 11 months old by then, he is getting a box and some paper!

heronsfly · 24/10/2013 07:22

Dd2 wants an iPhone, I'm due an upgrade so I am hoping i can work something out so that she can have one.
Dd3 wants an ipad I will probably try and get her one of the older models.
My other Dcs are grown up and all married now so i buy each couple a voucher for a meal or film and buy each Dgc something they are 'into'.

EspressoMonkey · 24/10/2013 07:30

DD1, a huge Octonauts fan, has asked for a real Lemon Shark which she will call Lemmy. I humoured her thinking it was a fad that would go away but 3 weeks later it is still top of her list...

MegBusset · 24/10/2013 07:51

DS1 (6) has asked for Lego Batman for the Xbox. I have resisted video games for them til now but I think he's old enough to start. (We already have the Xbox.)

DS2 (4) wants "a rubber duck for DS1" as DS2 has one which is highly coveted at bathtime :)

ihearttc · 24/10/2013 13:44

DS1 who is nearly 9 would like an X-box as apparently he is in the only boy in his year that doesn't have one! I very much doubt that is true...

DS2 who is nearly 3 has asked for a hose and a skateboard-can anyone guess what his favourite programme is?

RhondaJean · 24/10/2013 18:53

My 13 year old wants an electric guitar, an original Nintendo Gameboy ?ith Pokemon games, skyrim, a pile of clothes, Pokemon teddies, all of which she will get, and cosmetic contact lenses which she has no chance of.

The 9 year old mostly wants my little pony (I have bought every other my little pony toy you can get in Britain, even had people in America looking for the limits edition ones there without success - there isn't much available here believe it or not), monster high (I'm trying to buy up the newer and rarer dolls, tis a nightmare) and a bit of Lego.

RhondaJean · 24/10/2013 18:54

Sorry I don't mean I've bought her every my little pony toy for Xmas - the obsession has been going on for a while so over the last few years we have just about exhausted availability.

LoganMummy · 24/10/2013 19:01

DS (3) would like Cillit Bang, he says hello to Barry Scott every advert Grin

olibeansmummy · 24/10/2013 20:13

Ds (4) wants every-bloody-thing!
