Has anyone seen anyone selling these that don't cost a fortune?

Have you tried eBay? I got ours done last year, and having looked just now people are selling personalised stockings for around £6

Mamas and papas do them. Different design each year, but they are all the same style.

They are about £15 and that includes having a name on it. They have to send them away to be done, but they are embroidered so lovely quality.

Many shopping centre and markets have stalls selling stockings, so keep look out.

I made mine. Really easy and quick to make (especially if you have a sewing machine) with a bit of felt and fabric. I cross stitched the names and sewed them onto the cuff.

We got ours from Lands End, they are beautiful. Quite small so we have some stretchy big ones as well (home made/embroidered etc) but I like the LE ones because they are needlepoint and it would take me ages to do myself.

They had an offer I think too, you have to buy two and you get the third one free. It might still be the same this year.

I got cheap 97p stockings from wilko then stuck red and silver sequin names to them, along with some sequin stars and other bits.

They look good imo Smile

WhispersOfWickedness · 20/10/2013 12:08

I did my own too. I bought knitted stockings (prefer these to felt as they can accommodate more bizarrely shaped objects Grin )and then embroidered their names in wool along the top band Smile

I bought ours from eBay. They aren't very big but look lovely on the fireplace! I also bought the kids personalised present sacks
