Santa train?

Has anyone ever done the Santa train and is it worth it? I have DS 9 and dd6. Is 9 too old? He does still believe in Father Christmas (I think) but does realise that the ones in grottos are just people dressed up. We're in north west.

Seem to remember a thread last year where someone had a bad experience.

We've done the one at Embsay & it was lovely.

DD was almost 6 & DS almost 2 last year when we did it & we all loved it Smile

The station was really nicely decorated, as was the train, Father Christmas was great, the presents were really nice quality & age appropriate. I can't praise it enough.

In fact we've booked to go again this year Grin

Thanks. Just looked at it and it looks great. It's quite pricey but think I'll book before DS gets too old to be excited by that kind of thing. And hadn't realised they get presents. Can you remember what they got?

We are doing the Aviemore one on Christmas Eve morning.
Hoping for just the right amount of snow, enough to cover the scenery, but not so much that it affects the road or tracks.

I think it would be brilliant at any age OP, believers or not.

We go on the West Somerset Railways Santa Express , where Santa travels on the train ,but have also done the Longleat train where you visit Santa in his grotto.

Sure, DD got a Zhu Zhu pet & an accessory & DS got a lovely Winnie the Pooh book.

I also looked at the Haworth one (Worth Valley Railway I think) but that was more expensive.

We went on one which was ok. The train was the most interesting bit for DS but he was just two. They had two santas! Though ds didn't know that. He was amazed by Santa. This year I think we are going to a cave thing.
