Hi, I have no children myself (not by choice) and have little experience of babies/ toddlers. I need gift ideas for a two year old boy and seven month old girl. For reasons I am not going to bore you with, they need to be super amazing gifts and want it to look as though a lot of love and care went into choosing them. I am looking to spend £20-30 each. I am also a fairly good sewer, so any ideas of what i could make myself would also be much appreciated.

Sewing wise - could you make each of them a stocking? That would be a lovely and last a lifetime.

I would be thrilled with something like that for my DD.

For the toddler, you could put together a 'set' of something.

e.g baking - buy or make an apron, some cookie cutters, colourful bowl, spoon, baking tray.

Assemble a dressing up set, various outfits and accessories, like shoes, hats, toy tools, doctors kit etc.

A nice book is always good. A collection of nursery rhymes or bedtime stories.

For the baby maybe something like good quality traditional toys like ABC blocks, shape sorters etc.

I like the idea of a stocking each, perhaps with their names on, and i could fill with a few of the ideas you mentioned. I can imagine myself being thrilled to get that from someone, as it would be something nice, unique and personal. Plus, like you said, it will last them a lifetime. Thank you - great idea!
