My seven year old loves to make comic strips. I would really love to get him something in relation to this for Christmas. I read about this thing where they can make their comic, send it off and it can be printed. Im sure it was american though, and now I cant find it!

Any body got any ideas? Im in Ireland if that makes a diff.

Dd has this Any good?

Loonytoonie · 14/10/2013 20:35

I've heard there's a free comic creator app. Not sure of exact name though.

2kidsintow · 14/10/2013 20:45

We use this software (not the app, but that looks good too) on the computers at school and the children love using it.

It's not quite the same as the thing you're asking about, but Do you have 'The works' bookshops in Ireland? We bought DS's friend a Spider-Man comic making kit in there for his birthday. - it was about £5 I think.

IsleOfRight · 14/10/2013 20:53

How about a good stand for drawing? Don't know what they are called. Think they have lights on them too etc. not an easel, a shaped thing that goes on top of a desk.

BerstieSpotts · 14/10/2013 20:54

I'm sure there are lots of books like this - I remember getting one which I loved.

Try thinkgeek.com?

BerstieSpotts · 14/10/2013 20:57

Oh sorry, have just checked and thinkgeek don't deliver to Ireland :( Still could be a good starting point and then you could google the product name?

kiwidreamer · 14/10/2013 20:58

Crayola do a colour your own comic and use the computer to add yourself into the story or something! I got several at Home Bargains not that long ago but not much dearer on Amazon...

MmeLindor · 14/10/2013 20:59

Ooh, hang on. I will go and ask a comic creator duo for advice.

MmeLindor · 14/10/2013 21:27

Not for Xmas perhaps, but this might interest him Comic Creator

MarcelineTheVampireQueen · 14/10/2013 21:42

Ooh thanks, I knew ye would have the answers. I am obviously searching in the wrong places.

I def need a make your own comic thing. Honestly if you could see the comics he makes they are hilarious...I am saving them to sell on ebay when he is a famous illustrsator!

How about a subscription for the Phoenix Comic?

Gatekeeper · 15/10/2013 10:40

MmeLindor...that Phoenix comic looks great- thanks for posting

OldRoan · 15/10/2013 18:30

What about a comic strip photo frame?

He could use it for photos, or he could draw comic strips onto a piece of paper the right size (you could make a template?) then display his favourite ones in it.

ScarerAndFuck · 15/10/2013 18:34

I think Home Bargains had a ninja turtles comic kit, you could draw your own or use stickers and pre-printed strips.

ScarerAndFuck · 15/10/2013 18:35

It does here
