Another which tablet thread?

I'd like it for surfing the net, plus kids games and watching catch up TV. Ill be using it but also I want ds (7) and dd(3) to be able to make use of it.

I don't have a clear budget but the cheaper the better :)

What's an iPad mini like? Better than a nexus 7 say?

Depends really. Are you already tied into Apple/iTunes with other devices? If you are, then the ipad mini would make sense. If not, then the Nexus 7 is just as good, and somewhat cheaper.

The cost of the apps etc once you have the device is pretty much the same on either platform.

My thoughts on this, after much deliberation, are that it's worth it to spend the extra and get an iPad (mini or otherwise). They are fab, much, much better than android IMHO.
