Board games

I have 3 kids (12,10,7) and want to expand our board game collection.

We enjoy Monopoly, Twister, Top Trumps, Uno, Jenga, Pictionary and Charades for kids. We also enjoy Blackjack (with Skittles as gambling chips)

Connect 4 and Guess Who were awful quality so aren't used.

Trivial Pursuit didn't go down well.

Can anyone suggest anything we might like?

Rapidough is like pictionary but with playdough. It's excellent, and smaller children are more creative (generally) when it comes to playdough so easy to involve them.

Rummikub is also excellent, and incredibly addictive.

Monopoly cityville is cheap on amazon at the moment , £7 or so.
Also, Blokus is a great game.

Last year I bought "Sherlock Cluedo"

(The DC like the original but this one is "okay" )

Monopoly deal card game (quicker than monopoly)
Jungle speed (look at YouTube clips for any idea of the gameplay)

Bought Both last xmas after recommended on here and they went down well

Balderdash, Articulate, Rummikub, Ex Libris, cards. The best.

Some of the old games like Headache, Mousy Mousy and Flounders, which amuse both children and adults? (Well, Mousy amused us when my Dad slammed the cup on the mice which were being whipped off the table by their tails then upturned the cup and looked inside it as if they'd be caught within! )

Cluedo?
Are you into card games? Newmarket? Crib for the adults?
Bingo, either home made or as a boxed game?
Battleships, either on paper, electronic or as a plastic set in a box?

If you fancy Mousy Mousy or Flounders and are of a certain age you might prefer to pick up the original games on Ebay or in a charity shop or car boot sale for a bit of nostalgia.

Yes, Yahtzee too, is good fun.

What age for blockus?

For those ages I would buy Settlers of Catan or Ticket to Ride .

I love Cluedo, and if you don't mind a bit of second hand vintage goodness Hotel is an old game from the 80s, a bit similar to Monopoly.

Yes, yes to the Settlers of Catan, especially with the City and Knights extension!

Cranium (Junior Cranium) Kind of a mix of all the things you like

UNO extreme, cranium and rapidough.

Also, if you can get a copy of Sorry, that's fab too. Unfortunately, no longer on sale in the UK, so you'd either have to get it from the US or buy an old version off eBay. It's fab though - its lotto for bitches, and my children love it .

Yahtzee is a good game.

Another vote for cranium here - it's got various questions that include word games, charades, pictionary style, sculpturing things out of play doh, humming songs etc.
