Minecraft Lego

I'm thinking of ordering some Minecraft lego sets for DS (will be just 6 at Christmas). I'm wondering if these sets will be too advanced for him? He probably won't follow the instructions anyway and just build whatever he feels like but the sets are marked 10+ and I'm worried about getting something totally out of his league.

Does anyway have younger DC who play will Minecraft Lego?

Thanks!

Obviously meant "Does anyone have any younger DC who play with Minecraft Lego" - I'm tired!

does he like Minecraft?

i think that's the key question. They are not tricky sets to build, but they are fiddly because they are made entirely of the very smallest pieces.

If he doesn't do Minecraft anyway, they aren't worth it IMHO. They are very small when made, the first one is the biggest and it is about 15cm wide and tall.

At age 6 he is likely to enjoy so many other Lego sets, I think you could save the Minecraft for when he is 10 and you have run out of ideas

what about a knights' castle? or some of the Creator sets?

Hi
My son was 6 last Christmas and he loved the minecraft lego. It does have small pieces but we spent ages building together(good if you like building too)
If you look around eBay and Amazon there's also hoodies and t-shirts, He has a hoodie which is still being worn!

What do people think of the minecraft Lego? I have 2 girls (9 & 7) who are obsessed and I'd wondered about getting 2 different sets for them. I've been put off by the negative reviews on Amazon. Are they worth it?

My boys aged 7 and 8 love mindcraftmumsnet and love Lego. But it them the two toys are totally different. If I got them mindcraft Lego they would probably just chuck the bricks in with the rest of the Lego.
