to start downloading the music to make my Christmas CD?

My excuse is i need a variety of music as we are visitng my parents in Cornwall for Christmas and have a 3-4 hour drive (my dad reckons 2 but he reckons without DD1 and her constant need to eat or visit the toilet) so i therefore need lots of different, new cds.

So i'm thinking a Christmas CD and a cheesy pop one.

Please tell me your favourite Christmas song and by what artist. Mine, of course, is Fairytale of New York by the Pogues

And i can't just buy a cd as it inevitably has a cover of the songs i love done by some crappy boy band

MrsMcEnroe · 24/09/2013 18:43

I may have to name change after this

"Not Tonight Santa" by Girls Aloud!!!!!

BeaLola · 24/09/2013 19:17

Agree re the Pogues but my second choice ... Cheesy though it is would be Chris Rea and DrivingHome for Christmas.

hippoherostandinghere · 24/09/2013 19:24

You should get Now that's what I call Christmas, it has almost every Christmas song ever on it.

I do love Fairytale of New York but my favourite Christmas song ever is O Holy Night and it is even on it.

HighVoltage · 24/09/2013 19:28

Normally a sane person with sound taste in music, at Christmas I'm rather partial to Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas.

I was going to pretend it was David Bowie and Bing Crosby's Little Drummer Boy but in truth it's a distant second.

DSJamesHathaway · 24/09/2013 19:32

Pogues obviously but also Queen's Thank God It's Christmas

Chottie · 24/09/2013 19:41

I just love cheesy Christmas tunes too. I bought a Michael Boule CD last Christmas. I love Santa Baby (but probably not suitable for your DD)

StaticSockMonster · 24/09/2013 19:44
