Vtech for DD7?

DD is in year 3 and they are starting to use computers more this year. I was wondering about a Vtech for her? Would it help her computer skills? I don't know that much about them so if anyone had an advice I would be very grateful.

DD2 is 4 so she'd use it too I reckon. My mum is already asking me what to get her beloved grandaughters....

I think 7 is older than most children who use Vtechs...she might be better with a cheap Android tablet to be honest.

At 7, she is too old for any of Vtech products to be honest. Though it might be an idea for your younger child. A cheap android tablet is the way to go.

Ours do online maths homework and have to research topics (eg write something about the Tudors) - do the vtech allow them to do this ?

Cheap androids are what mine use.

Just had a look on Amazon. You can get an allwinner tablet for less than £40. Don't know the brand myself, but the majority of the reviews are good. Might be good for a 7 year old.

Should have added, I also have dc in year 3 and a Vtech wouldn't hold their attention for more than two minutes.

I'd get a cheap or second hand tablet. She's too old for vtech. The 4 year old can use the tablet too, my two have been using one with no problems since age 3.

Brilliant, thanks everyone. Tablet it is then.
