Elf on the Shelf!!

I've read about this in a few threads on here, and we have decided that it's a tradition that we are going to start for ds.
So Elf on the shelf will arrive on the 1st Dec, and bring DS's advent calendar. He will then hide around the house each day in December, and on Christmas Eve will be delivering a hamper of new pj's etc (DS may only be 15 months at Christmas, but I figure you are never too early to start!Grin )
My question to those who already have a friendly Elf visiting each year is, what do you use as your elf? I've had a quick look online, and can't find one I like!

This is ours though I wouldn't pay £60 for it! Actually ours was a gift received so I've no idea how much it was.

This is ours, tho I didn't pay that for it!

I have the original elf on a shelf, it comes in a gift box and incl.A book, ive been desperate to do elf on a shelf since he was a baby, but have somehow managed to wait until hes 3 and understands the elf and santa stuff... otherwise I think id have got a bit impatient and disappointed at his lack of enthusiasm lol

christmas pjs in our house arrive on the 1ast december with the elf, they have all month to wear them then, along with advent calenders a new story and a christmas DVD

On my phone so cant link but i got our elf from The Ruby Range (google) after someone on here said how cute they are. My elf has a big mop of ginger/auburn hair to match my DS as well which is very cute. The only thing i will say is they are quite big so may not suit what you are lookin for.

We have this Elf. It comes really well presented and I can't wait to use it, it comes with a list of ideas as well. I wanted the original elf because it's the traditional one however it apparently only dates back to the 90's so not that traditional!
It will arrive with advent calendars and Christmas books on 1st December, then on the 20th Dec it will deliver our CEH because that's when we're at Center Parcs and CE is normally quite a rush for us.

Thanks everyone, I'll keep an eye out. Am very jealous of the CP visit as well. Wonder if I can convince dh that a cp visit should be a Christmas tradition too...

This is our second year going the weekend before Christmas. Last year was cheap because it was only 2 nights as they wanted us out on the Sunday because Christmas Eve was Monday. This year I totally exploited the post summer holiday blues and convinced DP to book a trip so we had something to look forward to, hopefully I'll convince him next year as well. Can't bloody wait! I'd love to go for New Year but it is ridiculously expensive.

I knitted our elf.

wibblyjelly · 19/09/2013 17:21

I'd love to knit one, but it would probably be ready for Christmas 2014!Grin
