Fabric advent calendars

Hello,

I'm after a fabric advent calendar but can't find one with big enough pockets. I've already got the gifts mainly hotwheels cars and some happyland figures but the pockets would need to be 9cm at least to fit them in. Has anyone seen them this big?

Didn't want to go for wooden as we have no storage and can't really have one of those washing line type ones. Oh and I'm not arty and can't sew to save my life...

Do you have a country baskets near you? They tend to do a large selection. I got one with large pockets from there.

What about doing a large basket with all the toys wrapped inside with long ribbons attached with a tag on the end with the date. The kids then get to pull the right ribbon on the right day to get their gift out.

I got my 2 fabric ones from studio catalogue for a tenner each (personalised with their names) and the pockets look big enough to get either a happyland figure or a hot wheels car inside. Hope they are coz that's my plans for them, or things same sort of size as that Smile

Lakeland do a make your own kit, I done DS one last year, only really simple sewing and cutting out required. The pockets are big enough for cars, playmobil people etc. FWIW I can't sew very well either.

Ooh thanks I'll have a look at them. I saw some in the studio book but I didn't think they had the dimensions and I didn't want to risk it. I could try the basket idea, just at 2.5 I'm not sure he'll get the concept. May have to go down the DIY route though...

You could make a tube calendar a bit like this one
